Dissilience this past July was a collaboration of TEN women artists, in and out of the Los Angeles area. With it's success, Dissilience 2 will expand its list to 14 women artists plus 1 male artist. Our goal is to offer an opportunity for artists to share their work in a public space, supporting one another through a common passion. Our goal is not about adding any artist, instead to create a circle of positive and free-spirited individuals who compliment one another. Every artist brings a little something unique to the show. Our artshow focuses on the process of uninhibited art, distinct materials, the empowerment of women in the creative industry and the diversity of our coterie. Works take form through Paintings, Photography, Sculpture, Mix-Media, Film, Performance and Music.
Su Pang and Beth Kucharski, curators of DISSILIENCE, are throwing another party for those who love everything out of the box. We spent a week in Berlin, Germany to gather creative pieces for our next show, which takes place in a historic late 1800s garage, converted to an amazing 3500sq ft indoor/outdoor space, in the Silver Lake District. This December show has grown in terms of the number of artists as well as performers. We have an amazing line-up of talented artists.
Performing artists of the evening include 3 bands, a spoken WEIRD performer, and from 11-2a.m, we will be featuring 3 deejays spinning beats to make you move your feet til they drop! We are bringing back Bling Bling Dumplings - Handmade Vegan Dumplings, back by popular demand.
We suggest donations at the door. If you get thirsty, we will be serving wine, beer, soda and if you prefer to go sober "water".
Line-up includes Spoken Weird/Poetry Mime by THE LITTLE RED WRITER. Our music performers include KRISTI JO, ODD MODERN and A VERY SPECIAL PERFORMANCE by NOSTALGHIA, who will be DEBUTING her NEW E.P!. From 11p.m. to 2a.m., DEEJAY FRENCHKISS(FRANCE),HAIZEE(LOS ANGELES)and SIRSA(LOS ANGELES)will be spinning beats that will move your feet. So come down and join us for an amazing night of Art, Music and Culture. Perhaps you might even want to buy some art from us ;)
